2024 Gouache Workshops
For the gouache enthusiast seeking guidance and understanding—
join me this summer in UTAH and NEW YORK!
I’ve got two Gouache workshops on the calendar. Each workshop will span over 2-days exploring the versatile medium of gouache in both indoor and outdoor settings. These workshops are for both beginners and those familiar with the medium yet seeking more guidance.
We’ll focus how to create depth and dimension in your gouache paintings through accurate value control. How manipulating saturation can help depict the brilliancy of the natural world, and improve confidence with the medium by focusing on techniques such as layering, wet & wet washes, dry brushing, glazing and palette knife painting to capture the texture and feel of the Plein Air environment.

Due to its fast-drying nature, Gouache allows an artist to develop ideas quickly. A well-planned Gouache study can stand as a finished painting or act as a catalyst for larger works. However you choose to use the medium, Gouache can become another tool in your creative toolbox helping produce confident and lifelike paintings.
