ACCEPTED
I’m thrilled to announce “Rustic Planks Under Cottonwood Canopies” is accepted into the American Impressionist Society’s 25th Annual National Show in Rockport, Massachusetts!
Acceptance to these national shows is no small feat. This year the AIS received 1,601 entries and only 200 were accepted! What an honor to have a little piece of Idaho country on display next to artwork from the nations top impressionistic painters.
It all started with a small Gouache study.
Many layers of oil paint, cold wax, dry brushing, and glazing were used to achieve the impressionistic texture for the oil painting. This is the most thrilling part of the painting process for me!
In fact, I like this painting so much, I currently have an even larger version (5 feet x 2.5 feet) in my studio that I just started. The chase never ends, and I’m excited to see how this larger painting will come together.
