FEBRUARY GREETINGS!

I'm excited to pull back the curtain a bit this month and share some of my favorite tools and products that make my small studio such a productive and inspiring space.  These are the things I reach for day in and day out, and I hope you find some inspiration for your own creative haven!

TECH THAT WORKS

First UP, my Logitech Brio 501 webcam. If you're like me and rely on video calls or online demos, this camera is a game-changer. The image quality is superb – crystal clear and professional.  What I really appreciate is its ability to adjust to the lighting in my studio.  No more worrying about whether I'm properly lit; the Brio takes care of it, giving me the confidence that I'm presenting myself and my work in the best possible light.

FLEXIBLE FURINTURE

My studio isn't huge, so maximizing space is key. My secret weapon? Lifetime tables! They give me the flexibility to create extra workspace whenever I need it, which is essential for different projects. One minute I can prep materials, and the next I can have a second, or even third dedicated space for painting.

INSPIRATION ON THE SHELVES

Studying master artists has been a game-changer for my growth as a painter. My small but mighty art book collection is a constant source of inspiration. High-quality art books offer a valuable resource for analyzing composition, color, value patterns, design and the overall creative process. Every time I flip through these books, I walk away inspired and eager to paint.

THE HUMBLE PICKLE JAR

And finally, a slightly unconventional but essential studio staple: pickle jars! Cleaned and repurposed, they're perfect for holding solvents, and in our house, readily available! Who knew something from the kitchen could be so useful in the studio?!?!

As I celebrate these favorite studio tools, I’m reminded how much I love the process of painting, problem solving, and continually learning.

Wishing you a creative and love-filled February!
